“It’s the complete dream job for a designer” ; The Jaguar Vision GT Coupé
26th April 2020
This dramatic piece of engineered art you see right below is the Jaguar Vision GT Coupé. Well, it doesn’t exist in real as for now.

The all electric futuristic race car which debuted in “The Gran Turismo” on Play Station 4 is however not going to be an eccentric car confined to virtual reality.
Jaguar has officially confirmed plans on bringing this EV on the road.

“This project has been completely led by our young designers and represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for them to create a vehicle steeped in our incredible heritage but pushing the boundaries of future design. The team have done an incredible job in creating something which is clearly identifiable as a Jaguar, inspired – but not constrained – by our iconic past.”
– Julian Thomas, Design Director, Jaguar

That’s true, Jaguar has drawn inspiration from its heritage and roots in the design department. The entire design of the car is largely based on the C Type and D Type race cars from the 1950’s, which were major successes in the Le Mans racing back then.

On the other hand the drivetrain of the vehicle is supposedly going to be imported from Jaguar’s I Type 4 Formula E and I – PACE eTROPHY racing cars, which would mean some serious figures on paper.
Power : 1000 bhp
Torque : 1200 Nm
Acceleration : 0 to 62 mph within 2 seconds.
These numbers sound insanely crazy, placing it in the league of Koeinegsegg, Pininfarina and Lotus Evija. Apparently Jaguar too is in the run to make the ultimate EV.
